Fossil checklist

Fossil arrived in late 1999 as the third English set, and it leaned into a prehistoric theme that set it apart — this is where fossil Pokémon like Kabutops and Aerodactyl first turned up. The crown jewel is the Dragonite, a gorgeous holo of the friendly dragon soaring through a sunlit sky that some call the original "rainbow rare" for the way the art and foil play together. Gengar and the three legendary birds — Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres — are big draws too. It's more affordable to chase than Base Set, which makes it a satisfying one to complete.
