Expedition Base Set checklist

Expedition kicked off the e-Card era — those cards with the little dot-code strips down the side that you could actually scan with a Game Boy Advance reader for mini-games and Pokédex info. Released in late 2002, it was the biggest set yet, with a fresh photo-framed look and some of the finest artwork in all of vintage Pokémon. It's a bit overlooked because it has no big "chase" subset like the Crystal cards that came later, but that's a shame — the Charizard holo and the sheer quality of the art make it a lovely one to collect.
