Evolutions checklist

Evolutions is the set for anyone who wants the Base Set magic without the Base Set price tag. Released in 2016 for Pokémon's 20th anniversary, it takes the original 1999 artwork — Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur and the rest — and reprints it on modern card stock, so you get that first-generation look in a card you can actually grade and afford. The Charizard (11/108) is the one everyone's after, of course; it's the same iconic art as the Base Set original, just far kinder on the wallet. A lovely nostalgia trip of a set.
