satoma is a real artist's artist — a Tokyo-based illustrator and animator who trained at the Tokyo University of the Arts, teaches at an art university, and does everything from book covers to music videos alongside the card work. satoma came to Pokémon after placing in the 2022 illustration contest, then debuted on a Dratini in Obsidian Flames. The one to seek out is the Cresselia illustration rare from Shrouded Fable — Cresselia front and centre beneath a sky full of northern lights, and it's genuinely stunning. Keldeo, Eevee and Celebi cards followed. A serious talent doing some of the loveliest work in the modern game.
