Fukuda describes his own work as cute, colourful and vibrant, and that's bang on — he's got a real eye for colour that makes his cards pop off the page. Here's the fun bit for collectors, though: he illustrated every one of the old Gold Star cards, those wildly chased ex-era holos, and you can see him deliberately cranking the angles and colours to make them stand out. So if you've ever lusted after a Gold Star, that's Fukuda's hand you were falling for. He's been colouring in the Pokémon world since 2004.
