Sakuma has one of those lovely "lifelong fan turned pro" stories — she's loved Pokémon since she was a kid, started illustrating freelance while still at art college, and has been drawing cards since 2013. She's seriously prolific now, and she also shows her own original work at exhibitions, which tells you she's an artist first and foremost. If you've chased the popular Iono trainer card, that's one of hers. Her style is warm and appealing across a huge body of work — the kind of dependable quality that quietly holds a lot of modern sets together.
