Nishida has a claim to fame that's hard to top: she designed Pikachu. Yeah — that Pikachu. She was a designer at Game Freak and helped shape loads of the original Pokémon before going freelance, and she's been drawing cards since way back in 1997. So when you pick up one of her cards, you're holding work from someone who literally helped invent the characters everyone else just draws. Her art has a warm, friendly charm to it — fitting, really, for the person who gave the world its most famous mouse.
