HeartGold & SoulSilver brought the card game back to Johto in 2010, tying in with the beloved Gen 2 remakes — and it introduced two gorgeous new card types at once. Pokémon Prime were striking, zoomed-in holos of fan-favourite Pokémon, while Pokémon LEGEND split a single Pokémon across two cards you had to combine. This base set led with the Johto mascots as LEGEND cards, Lugia and Ho-Oh, plus the Johto starter Primes and a lovely secret-rare shiny red Gyarados.
